I have however, had the pleasure of style hunting in some amazing places; from the most cramped charity shops in Paris, to the department stores in New York and the quaint boutiques in Venice. Still, I can't help but feel that London, with it's impressive high street, flee markets, vintage fairs and designer fashion houses dominates every other city in the fashion stakes without even trying. If you needed more proof than the effortlessly well dressed girls that walk our streets daily, then check out the below! The very designers that inspire and encourage them to experiment whilst feeding their imagination with all sorts of fashion possibilities have laid on an amazing spread once more for SS12!
Choosing an ultimate winner from my 8 favourite designers to have showcased so far is a toughie but I have no qualms in pointing out Mulberry as my number one look (closely followed by House of Holland). The quintessentially English label have played well on the fact that our summers are often wet thus the anoraks and ribbed leggings in lovely buttermilk, lemon and caramel tones - practically good enough to eat.
House of Holland have also had fun with a palette of varying colours which I love, my favourite being the cotton candy chiffon blouse and the 2 tone sorbet shirt dress which I'd love to get my hands on!
With shows from the likes of Pringle of Scotland, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Burberry Prorsum and Temperley London plus sooo many more still to come, I'm convinced that if there was a prize for the best fashion city in the whole wide world (ever, full stop, the end) it would have London's name all over it! x
