•I've been seeing lots of lovely nautical themed bits on the high street and online this week and love that the simple trend has stuck around through out so many seasons and is constantly being tweaked. A little like the polka dot, the Breton stripe and the military look, the naval theme of anchor symbols, navy/red/white stripes and rope is an iconic trend which looks clean and chic dressed up or down and is a fail safe style present in at least one item of clothing in our wardrobes. I've put my favourite items from the week on today's Wishlist Wednesday and adore the 'Nautical But Nice' crop tee by Monki (a Swedish brand who have just landed amongst a fashion buzz in Carnaby St London) the most, so cute!xo

'Milo' Boat Shoes @ ASOS £16

•A little while ago I blogged about my idea of a perfect holiday wardrobe (see here) and now that I'm just a mere week away from the sun, sea and sand I'm much in need of finalising my packing and purchasing my last minute must-haves. I travel light when it comes to clothes anyway, and I definitely don't want to be lugging around a huge vanity case with me so have prioritised the things most important whilst I'm away, which in no particular order are: skincare, haircare, a yummy lip balm with SPF, a gorgeous nail colour to compliment a tan and a big pair of sunglasses to hide tired eyes and hangovers - Simple! Now once that's all shopped for, all I have to do is sit back and count the days! 7 sleeps and counting! What are your holiday must-haves, am I forgetting anything?!xo

•I'm back down to earth with a bump after all the excitement of London Fashion Week and have realised that I'd probably have to live on air for the rest of my life to afford all the things I spotted on the catwalk! So, my Wishlist Wednesday this week is a few of my new favourite picks to hit the high street recently and I'm really enjoying shopping for spring. I love the floral open back shirt from Miss Selfridge paired with the River Island super skinny striped jeans - A little subtle clashing in spring's soft colours will go a long way in my SS wardrobe this year and I'm planning on wearing this outfit very soon to a big lunch date with a group of girls I used to work with. It's more than likely that I'll have to pull a cardi over my shoulders as the sun isn't shining quite bright enough at the moment, but it's definitely getting closer :) xo

Open Back Floral Shirt @ Miss Selfridge £30
Blue Stripe Skinny Jeans River Island £40
Tan Block Heel Sandals @ River Island £60
City Bag @ Zara £39.99

•Texture was the order of the day at Mulberry's AW12 show at the Claridge's Hotel as creative director Emma Hill took inspiration from Maurice Sendak's 'Where The Wild Things Are' fairytale and sent her army of models down the catwalk in Mongolian fur and shaggy sheepskins. The collection of furs were paired beautifully with fine knits, marbled jumpers, luxurious lace and taffeta dresses in floral, zigzag, yeti and Nordic prints and the colour palette ranged from camel to caramel tones with a touch of rich chocolate, burnt orange and sepia hues. I especially loved the giant yeti coats cinched at the waist with skinny belts - Impractical yet desirable!?

I for one would have given anything to be sat on front row between ice queen Anna Wintour and butter wouldn't melt Michelle Williams, if anything just to drool over the fur bomber jackets, the cashmere trousers, and obviously the updated Alexa and Maisie handbags - Swoon! Click here to view the best from the catwalk and also check out the new Del Rey handbag below, launched of course as homage to singer Lana Del Ray (you know you've made it when Mulberry name a bag after you!), I have a feeling it'll be on many wishlists when it's launched in May though personally, it's no Alexa satchel!xo

•I ♥ London Fashion Week ... There's no doubting that New York, Milan and Paris always display the amazing luxe labels we all lust after such as Chanel, Dior, Victoria Beckham, DvF, Calvin Klein et all as well as visionary labels such as Nomian and Richard Chai - BUT - London is knowing for it's laid back, cool, productive and prolific fashion that has raised designers such as Christopher Kane, Mary Katranzou and Sarah Burton and continues to push new talent and break new ground in it's effortless, electric, exciting ways.

Here is a selection of my favourite pieces from the AW12 shows so far, no doubt I'll do another post as soon as Mulberry's (looove) catwalk pictures are published, I'm most excited!xo

Middle row L to R > House of Holland, PPQ, Bora Aksu
Bottom row L to R > Emilia Wickstead, Antipodium, Zoe Jordan

•Ignorance is bliss ~ With this in mind, I'm ignoring the rain, the sub zero temperatures of late and my constant yearning to be in pyjamas (elasticated waist preferred) and I'm dreaming of spring, bare legs and saying seeya to my coat, all for a wardrobe full of colours, prints and textures that belong in the sunnier months. My Wishlist Wednesday this week gives a little nod to one of the many trends set to brace us this spring/summer season: fresh, bold, statement pieces in neons and brights ~ Colour blocking/popping to your heart's content in cheery, vibrant clothes that make you feel good, now what's not to love?!xo

•Window shopping online for independent e-tailers and sieving out the good from the bad (why are there so many slinky bodycon Lycra numbers in production? They will NEVER work?!) has become a favourite pastime of mine lately, proving more than ever that I need help with my shopissues < def a real word.

Having said this, I really can't avoid the fact that there are so many lovely boutiques giving the high street a run for their money in both the originality and price categories! Shopping through these websites means there's always going to be at least one unique and quirky item I wear out with friends or to work, that's unlikely to have been seen in a shop window therefore avoiding the everyday copycat wardrobes most of us have due to shopping in the same places. This makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside :)

The most recent little gem that I stumbled across is Sugarhill Boutique - An independent brand founded in 2005 by a brother/sister team and based in Brighton, they've made a welcome impact amongst stockists such as ASOS and Very and been worn by celebs such as The Saturday's.

I'm told sharing is caring (I resent this) so here are the pieces on my lust list from the Sugarhill website that are challenging the high street this week ~

Mellow Meadow Playsuit £30
Merry Go Blouse £36
My 2 favourite items!

Cherry Bomb Shift Dress £42
Kissing Swans Shift Dress £52

Feline Fine Dress £30
Lolly Blouse £32

•Wishlist Wednesdays seem to come around so quick these days, is it me or is time just flying?! I've raved on about Yayer before and still maintain that their website is a gem for fashion finds that you wouldn't see on the high street, SO this time, I've fallen head over heels for this sheer floral kimono with fringe detailing by exciting new label Reverse and think it'll be my saviour once spring eventually drags its sorry self around.
Perfect with worn denims, bright bodycon dresses and clashing Aztec print leggings with heels, it really is the 'go to' item you'd get continuous wear out of well in to the summer months when nothing in your wardrobe quite ticks the edgy cool box like it!xo

Geometric Print Tunic @ ASOS £22
Vintage Inspired Turn-Up Shorts @ Urban Outfitters £32
Floral Kimono by Reverse @ Yayer £45

•Us girls, we're pretty easy to please when it comes to gifts, a little effort and we're thoroughly impressed and ready to sing some praises. With that in mind I've put together 5 lovely gifts that most, if not all girls would love to wake up to on any given day, particularly St Valentine's. So boys, nudge nudge wink wink, your subtle hints are given below! And girls, 'cut out and keep' (and possibly stick to your fridge so it can't be forgotten/ignored) comes to mind. Feel free to customise to your loved up heart's content (and your boyfriend's dismay) ... Enjoy!xoxo

•I'm really tired of putting my faith in to long awaited products or the new must have beauty counter item and being disappointed when it falls short of all it is advertised to be and disappoints me. This is probably the main reason why, when invited to do so, I jumped at the chance to pop down to Goodge St after work one evening recently to visit Sample Trend, a first of it's kind 'try before you buy' store in London.

The concept is pretty simple - You pay around £5 a month for membership, and are able to pick 5 (if you're lucky 6) items in full sizes to take away with you, use and give feedback on via an online forum. Generally speaking, it's hard to swerve the products you're already familiar with just because you're paying less than £1 an item and you're comfortable with what you know, though that really isn't the aim of the game.

There are products here from brands such as Nivea, Johnson & Johnson, Avon, Kraft, Nestle & Procter & Gamble (to name but a few) who are all making the most of reaching a wider consumer market by way of innovative, untypical promotion and sale. I picked up a 400ml Alberto VO5 Strong Hold Weather Resistant Hairspray and found myself resistant because often I use the Elnett Limited Edition Hairspray endorsed by Cheryl Cole, which got me thinking - Am I buying it because of the celeb endorsement or because I believe in the product? Am I sold easily on slashed prices, items that are marketed in luring ways and deals that mean I'll have plenty of one type of body lotion meaning I don't go near another for a year?

The answer to all the above is probably yes, though what I love about the Sample Trend concept is that there is a wide range of easily accessible brands and goodies from food, magazines, entertainment ideas to household and beauty products that may go untried because many of us don't have the luxury of spending our money on a new brand of something on the off chance we may like it... Live a little comes to mind but that's just the way we seem to be.

I picked up the items above and have mixed reviews on them: The Arm & Hammer toothpaste I can't believe I didn't discover sooner and I've become religious about it so they've gained a customer in me, the St Moriz fake tan is an alternative to the fake tan I use, not as good but an option I'll consider should my trusted Rimmel not be on the shelf, and the diet and exercise magazine is something I'll probably never pick up and actually read through, so at least if ever tempted in the future I know to not waste my money.
What do you guys think of this concept? Check out Sample Trend here and let me know your thoughts!

•Well, there's nothing quite like frostbite to bring you back down to earth with a bump... It is freezing today, I am literally frozen. And even the sight of a bikini is giving me the shivers at my desk so I've reverted to looking at pretty knits and boots instead, HA.

I give you a little bit of a mish mash Wishlist Wednesday this week - Usually everything I love makes some sort of outfit as I always have somewhere to be and am very much one of those girls that always wants and needs new things even with a wardrobe full of clothes. This week, even though this outfit works I love the versatility in each item individually. The blouse is by Virgo's Lounge which is a new discovery for me - They have some seriously cool and quirky pieces you won't find on the high street but at really impressive prices, check them out here.

I'm also really drawn to the colour green at the moment, I love the vibrancy of the flippy skirt by Topshop and think it'll be a nice desk to bar item for my work wardrobe! Lastly, this H&M clutch comes in a series of different colour combinations (soft beige/forest green, cobalt blue/fuchsia pink, black/black) but I love how bright this orange and tan match is. I'm going to purchase asap and wear this weekend with a pair of true blue skinnies and a cream leopard print collar/cuff blouse. The bags also have a gold chain for shoulder wear - Perfect.

Clutch @ H&M £12.99
Jewel Embellished Blouse @ Virgo's Lounge £39.99
Pleated Flippy Skirt @ Topshop £30
