•Just when I was complaining that I had a diary full of empty pages, lots of things have happened over the last week which has made me a very happy girly indeed! My beautiful friend Mel got engaged in Morocco to her lovely boyfriend (now fiancĂ©) Ian and I'm totally over excited that one of my girls from my closest circle of friends is going to get married! Happy tears all round and a biiig date for my diary!
Every other thing is tiny in comparison but suddenly I have dinner dates, parties and plans for road trips coming out of my ears, so perhaps my summer is finally taking shape at last.
I'm still doing well on the limited shopping front and though I'm sure I have clothes in my wardrobe that will see me through each occasion I'm actually really hoping to find something lovely to wear to The Dorchester in a few weeks, an outfit like the bits on Wishlist would be perfect. As well as afternoon tea that day, my best friend and I also have a date with a little shop called MULBERRY, followed by cocktails in the evening... I'm looking forward to feeling like Carrie Bradshaw for the day, and she wouldn't rock up in an outfit less than perfect so I don't intend to either!xo

Having slightly depressing thoughts lately about how little I have coming up in June/July on the lead up to my holidays in August and I’ve simply decided I need to make more plans, if anything, in order to get the best out of my wardrobe! Is it just me that justifies the amount I spend on shopping per month according to how much wear  I get out of each item?! Lately it’s not been much at all and with a statistic that women utilize only 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time (read on I definitely think this applies to me! I wouldn’t really suggest I’m going to shop less because that’s an empty promise right there however I do think it’s an excuse to fill my diary with lots of things to do! The next big thing I have coming is afternoon tea at The Dorchester Hotel with one of my closest girl friends so my Wishlist Wednesday this week focuses on what I may wear, if I decide to shop for the occasion opposed to dusting something old off! I’m really loving this beaded top from Mango which is new on the website this week and will no doubt be a seller, but I think it’s perfect for unpredictable weather and adds a lovely glam touch to a casual outfit. Also love these wedges which are a gorgeous colour for showing off tanned legs, especially on a day like today! Is it summer at last?!xo Window-_-92295 -_-0 &awc=2319_1340186054_2d84344cfee3b6de4cdd48f459b80773

•I must say I'm having a bit of a fan girl moment over Selena Gomez in this Versace outfit she chose to wear to the launch of her new fragrance at Macy's NYC last weekend.
Aside from ticking every box for current trends in summery pastels, perfect tailoring, the starfish/seashell print and the shorts meets bralet combo, I think she looks perfectly chic, girly and young - Quite a rare thing in Hollywood, where dressing age-appropriate isn't a 'thing' and even 18 year old actresses appear 40 (I'm looking at you, Dakota Fanning, in your couture gowns).
Now, if she lost the jacket I'd be worried about her modesty as well as her health, so I'm pleased she chose this collarless Vanessa Bruno piece, teamed with nude Giuseppe Zanotti heels and simple accessories, hair and make up.
The whole outfit is definitely a look I'd try with similar pieces from the high street though personally, the length of the shorts would have to be a teeny bit longer and the thought of going out in a bra makes me shudder slightly so a nice, boyish fit blazer or flattering waterfall jacket would have to be my saviour!
What do you think of Selena's outfit? Is it something you'd wear?xo

•It's just dawned on me that today is my little blog's one year birthday! I can't believe I've been babbling for a whole year, and you guys have stuck around and read me :) I really appreciate it, so thank you!
In a Wishlist Wednesday based on my summery needs; there are some bits here that I've thought I'd really like to purchase before the summer is over (not that it ever begun, but you know) and I'd really like to make some opportunities to get the best out of each thing! Picnics, beaches, festivals, barbecues and road trips, inevitably I WILL still be taking part in these religious acts of summer, come rain or shine and of course it needs to be done with style. I've also put down a few other bits I'm lusting after at the moment, just in case any of you are feeling generous and want to buy a girl a birthday present or two ;) xo

•I'm new to Pinterest, well newish anyway, and today has been the first day that I've actually started pinning... And seemingly haven't stopped. Anything that inspires is more than fine by me and seeing as it took me no time at all to get hooked on Instagram (girlseekfashion) for lots of  style, fashion, hair, beauty, food and travel (etc etc) photos, I think my chances of becoming 'pin happy' with lots of varying mood boards are high too! Have you joined the hype yet? Feel free to leave your user names below, mine is grlseeksfashion :)
Here is a little of what's taken my fancy so far today xo

•Wow, I've really been off the blogging radar this week and this is one of the first occasions I'm finding time for myself to actually write! I'm sorry for going quiet on you lovely lot, it won't happen again I promise :)

I'd wanted to share my love for my eyelash extensions when I previously had them done at the beginning of the year (January through to March) but had totally forgotten the before/after pics so I've made sure I have some snaps to show you all this time. Until Jan I'd never had extensions and relied purely on my Eyelure strips for nights out and my Bad Gal Benefit mascara for the day ~ That was until a lovely girly I know called Jess started working with LashPerfect from her home salon and I was keen to try them for myself. Jess made my eyelashes thicker and longer by attaching individual synthetic lashes to my natural ones to give me the fluttery-eyed look I was after, effectively cutting out the need for mascara and giving me a minimal 'I don't have any other make up on but I actually look nice' kinda face, the kind I personally always want!

Now if you're going get the best from the lashes (mine lasted 4 weeks at a time before needing infills) the usual rules apply: avoid oil based make up/creams, don't pick, don't get them TOO wet, brush them with a clean mascara wand etc etc. It's all pretty simple stuff and they really do take care of themselves! I found that even once my own eyelashes naturally shed (it is said we lose 15 on each eye every 2 weeks or so) the extensions were still semi full and lovely up until the end of the 4 weeks. After having them on and infilled for 3 months in a row I decided to give my own lashes a little rest and I was actually surprised that they still felt so strong, no missing patches and no stubblyness, a definite bonus.

The best part of all is that my make up now takes at least 10 minutes less to do without the effort of mascara or applying strips and even when I roll out of the bed in the morning I still look semi human, perfect for those days when make up at work feels like an effort! I'm definitely going to keep them up through the summer and on my holidays as I love how they look and considering we hear quite negative things about eyelash extensions I think they HAVE to be a revolution! Jess is based in Bishop's Stortford (Essex though easy to reach from London), a lot less expensive than most salons and most definitely worth a visit >
Have you had any good/bad experiences with eyelash extensions or tried LashPerfect?xo
