Wishlist Wednesday: The Christmas Edit

Wednesday, 28 November 2012

•Now that November seems to be giving way to December (and finally the Christmas period) and the year is hurtling towards it's finish line, I feel like I owe it to myself - and my overflowing online shopping baskets and lists - to do a Wishlist Wednesday post with items I'm lusting over for upcoming parties and events as well as presents for myself and maybe even for others... Maybe.

I haven't done a Wishlist Wednesday in what feels like forever and this has mainly been due to the fact that I've been terribly naughty and spent a lot of time and money snapping up everything I've set my eyes on, leaving me unusually fulfilled in the shopping department! You could probably say I'm back with a vengeance but that's never a bad thing, so here goes!xo

The Bunny Rabbit Ring Holder

Friday, 23 November 2012

•My obsession with rings was always going to end with the purchase of all purchases, and though I had expected it'd be of 14 carat nature, I've happily settled for this amazing little ring holder instead (for the time being). Okay, it's no contender for a diamond but it's made the little jewellery section of my dressing table complete and pretty much everyone who has been in my room since I got it has raved about how much they love it.

I got my Zoola bunny on a random rummage through Sass & Belle in Covent Garden for £8 but have since seen that Urban Outfitters also have them in stock, and with a few different characters including this cute little elephant. Had I been patient enough, I probably would've put my bunny on a list for Santa as it's the perfect gift for a stocking... Am I the only one that still gets a stocking?! Never the less, the damage is done now and my bunny sits happily amongst tangles of knotted necklaces looking all neat and pretty.

Obviously, I don't wear all of this finger bling at the same time and these are just a few select faves - Mainly because I'm petrified I'll end up losing one as I seem to misplace EVERYTHING these days but also because I feel like Mr T if I wear more than 2 or 3 on each hand!xo

Ring : Mother of pearl ring - Accessorize
Middle : 1. Infinity knot mid finger ring - Etsy 2. Vintage gold ring, handed down from my great auntie
Index : 1. Silver and pave diamond ring, a gift for my 18th birthday 2. December Birthstone ring - Pandora
Thumb : Double rose gold thumb rings - Etsy

Baby It's Cold Outside

Saturday, 17 November 2012

•We're way off yet, I know. But I can't tell you all how excited I am for Christmas. I absolutely love everything about the festive season! From the first glimpse of Starbucks' red cups to the hurried purchasing of gifts, the hunt for the perfect tree to the pretty lights twinkling on street corners - I adore this time of year and all the family fun and excitement it brings.

This year, I'm off to Chris's parents lovely little house in the Lincolnshire countryside, where reindeer jumpers are dress code and everyone is drunk by 2pm. I'm yet to buy my trashy Christmas jumper (the louder the better) though I've spotted this chunky knit which will keep me going through the cold in the mean time, along with these cutsie accessories which are perfect buys for the winter as well as the Christmas period.

There are just 38 sleeps until the big day (and only 37 until my birthday), has anyone else started shopping for gifts or compiling their wishlists yet?!xo

Loose Batwing Sweater @ udobuy.com £28 - Now sold out in nude.
Patterned Bobble Hat @ Warehouse £18
Red Tartan Scarf by Barbour @ ASOS £25
Gold Plated Reindeer Necklace @ Max & Chloe £47
Fair Trade Knitted Christmas Socks @ fashion-conscience.com £18

sun down friday night, uptown city lights

•Well this feels kinda nice. It's been way over a month since I last blogged, and though initially it was lovely to have a break, with a revamp of the website and a holiday in between, I have recently had itchy fingertips about getting back to blogging and it's lovely to pick up from where I left off - I hope I haven't lost my mojo!

My first post back, naturally, had to be about Dubai. I don't really fancy myself as Anthea Turner in her Wish You Were Here days (bad hair cut, and morals) so I'll leave out all the flounce and sum it up simply by saying that it was amazing.

From the moment we touched down in 35c heat I felt the electric atmosphere of Dubai sparking away at my soul. Man made down to the last grain of sand, it's hard to believe you're in the middle of the desert when you're laying pool side under a sun shadowed by enormous, futuristic buildings and malls.

What was also unbelievable (and unexpected) was the night life. I don't think I've really been anywhere like Dubai since Las Vegas during the summer of 2011 but like Vegas, Dubai sucks you in with it's style and aura and wins you over with its charm. It's quiet and loud, in your face and humble, rich and poor all at the same time and to fully explore it, you'll need to stay a while.

I have a ridiculous amount of photos, mostly of food, a lot of pretty looking drinks, some of the sunset and a few of the people I went with but you really have to see Dubai to actually believe it, I can't wait to go back!

Here are a few select photos from my week:
